End of a Sponsorship Era

After 21 years, Fed Ex has decided to cut it ties with the famed Orange Bowl game in Miami. With this breakup it made me wonder if Fed Ex was the first to become a title sponsor for a bowl game. Since Fed Ex signed on, many bowl games followed suit and some (Outback, Capital One) became the sole name on its featured game. Until a new sponsor steps forward, this will most likely be the look of Miami's BCS game.

Day 2 of Iowa Football Practice in Miami

Another sunny day in South Florida, but with temperatures "only" to get into the upper 60s. Practice today will be much like day 1 as the Iowa Football team settles into its Fed Ex Orange Bowl routine.

Barry University Practice 1

First day of practice is over for the University of Iowa football team at Barry University. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s were a big change for this midwestern team.

Players enter the facilities of Barry University. BU is a Division II team which doesn't have football. The Iowa team is using the soccer fields for practice.
Prior to the start of Practice, Iowa Football Head Coach, Kirk Ferentz talks with members of the Orange Bowl committee, among those are Larry Gautier (far left) and Sean Crews (right of Ferentz).

A welcome sight on the road from Barry to the Fontainebleau.
