On To The Finals

Undefeated and number one in the state, the North Mahaska Warhawk Girls Basketball team advanced to the finals to play Bedford for the State Championship. A year ago the team made it to Des Moines but was quickly dismissed in the first round. Perhaps satisfied to make the final 8 in 2011, this year qualifying wasn't enough and this will be the first team in North Mahaska Girls Basketball history to play for the trophy.

Being a graduate, former ball boy of the girls team and having a father who once coached the six-player NM team, I know how big this is for the small class 1A town.
