Final Day of Practice

The Iowa Football team had their last day of full practice before Thursday's Outback Bowl with South Carolina. It is a busy day for the team as it started out with the FCA Breakfast, followed by practice and then Beach Day at Clearwater.

Closer to Game Time

Practice Continued today at the University of Tampa. This late afternoon practice is the second to last practice before Thursday's Outback Bowl.

Back to Practice

After a day off from the practice field, the Hawkeye football team was back at it on Sunday. It is Tuesday of game week.

Today members of the media were able to attend the first 20 minutes and get all the video and pictures they could take.

The Outback Steakhouse Blimp made its first appearance over the University of Tampa practice site.

Iowa Football's Home Away from Home

When Iowa travels, it nearly moves the entire Jacobson Athletic Complex with them. Below is the locker room and equipment room facilities at the University of Tampa. U of Tampa has not had a football team since the early 70s, but teams make the best of what is given them. The home team in the Outback Bowl always use the U of Tampa as their practice facility. The locker room is full of chairs and each player dresses out of the travel bag. Showers are adjacently located in their basketball gymnasium. The equipment room is based out of a classroom.

The second day of practice for the Hawkeye football team in preparation for the 2009 Outback Bowl. Bright blue sunny skies greeted the team as temperatures reached the 80s. Another beautiful day on the University of Tampa campus.

Outback Bowl - Iowa Practice Facility

Welcome to the University of Tampa's Soccer Stadium and the current practice facility of Iowa Football. Located a few blocks from downtown Tampa, this Division II program, which has not had football in nearly 30 years is one of the Outback Bowl's facility for teams to practice. In the past Iowa has used Jesuit High School and Thomas Jefferson High School. However as the home team, University of Tampa is the designated spot for us.
